Day 01: Yangon Arrival
Arrive Yangon by evening flight. Welcome by our tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel, Yangon.
Day 02: Heho – Pindaya – Kalaw Sightseeing
Take a morning flight to Heho (Inle). Proceed to Pindaya, a small quiet town, famous for its Pindaya Caves (Shwe – umin or Golden Cave), formed many years ago. The caves themselves are stocked full of Buddha images (apparently 8,094 in total) many covered with gold and carved by the locals at the end of the 17th century in a variety of styles. One can also study bamboo umbrella making, paper – making, Pindaya Lake and the aged thousand years old trees. In the afternoon, proceed driving to Kalaw, British colonial hill station. Sightseeing in Kalaw includes pine trees and groves and Tudor stlye houses and English Gardens of colonial days remain. Stay overnight at hotel, Kalaw.
Day 03: Kalaw – Magwe Elephant Camp (By Car)
After breakfast at hotel, then drive to Magwe elephant camp (45mins drive) located in Magwe village in the area close to Wet Phyu Ye reservoir, Kalaw Township in southern Shan State. Then walk (5-7mins) to the river where elephant bath and you can join in feeding and bathing the elephants. Exploration of the forest area, opportunity to see butterflies, birds and orchids around our conservation area. (clients can take a short ride on elephant’s back, depends on the weather and health condition of our elephants). Lunch will be served at the main camp. You are also welcomed to join us by planting regional trees from our nursery in our forest recovery efforts. Return to main camp and enjoy the view through valley. Then drive back to Kalaw and overnight at Kalaw.
Day 04: Inle Lake Sightseeing
Drive to Inle. Inle Lake sightseeing by boat includes Floating Market (can be able to see on the market days only which holds on every five days), Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, it houses 5 extraordinary Buddha images scarcely recognizable as they have been disfigured by layers of gold which people stick on both for good luck and as an art of piety, Ngaphechaung Monastery – the modest collection of Buddha images in Shan, Tibetan, Bagan and Inwa styles, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and other sights. Stay overnight at hotel in Inle.
Day 05: Inle - Yangon
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure to Yangon by morning flight. Transfer to the hotel. Visit to Botataung Pagoda, built in AD 997 legend has it that 1,000 officers brought two hairs of Buddha. It is a hollow pagoda with Zigzagging corridor with walls completely covered in mosaic mirror glass. Next proceeds to Nanthida Jetty and watch the traffic on the Yangon River. Here, luxary cruise liners come to berth at this jetty quite often. After lunch visit National Museum, has a rich collection of antiques, cultural objects, arts and handicrafts of indigenous races, royal regalia, musical instruments, decorative arts and art gallery. The significance of the Museum is the Lion Throne (Thiha Thana Palin). After that, shopping at Bogyoke Aung San Market before called Scott’s Market, where one can buy many items in one place. This Market was built in British colonial times and has a colonial shape. Stay overnight at hotel, Yangon.
Day 06: Yangon Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure by morning flight.
Surcharge for compulsory Christmas and New Year Dinner will be subject to confirm at time of booking.
