Day 1: Arrival Yangon
Arrive at Yangon Int’l Airport by morning flight. Welcome by our tour guide. On the way to hotel, visit Lawkachantha Abaya Labamuni Buddha Image being curved from a Superlative Monolithic marble stone, Kaba Aye Mahapathana Cave (World Peace) Pagoda, walk into the Great Cave (man – made cave), which was built to hold sixth synod of Buddhist monks in order to revise the Buddhist scriptures. Then transfer to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing commence from Chauhtatgyi Pagoda – a huge reclining Buddha, Kandaw Gyi Royal Lake, visit and watch the sunset at the Glorious Shwedagon Pagoda – over 2500 years old and one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments. Dinner at Karaweik Royal Berge with cultural show. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Heho – Pindaya - Kalaw
Take a morning flight to Heho (Inle). Proceed to Pindaya, a small quiet town, famous for its Pindaya Caves (Shwe – umin or Golden Cave), formed many years ago. The caves themselves are stocked full of Buddha images (apparently 8,094 in total) many covered with gold and carved by the locals at the end of the 17th century in a variety of styles. One can also study bamboo umbrella making, paper – making, Pindaya Lake and the aged thousand years old trees. Then proceed to Kalaw and overnight.
Day 3: Kalaw – Inle Lake
After early breakfast, start trekking tour to mountain villages where minority Palaung tribes lived. Enjoy the traditional meals together with the villagers. Transfer to Nyaung Shwe (Inle Lake) in the evening. Stay overnight at hotel, Inle.
Day 4: Inle Lake Sightseeing
Inle Lake sightseeing by boat includes Floating Market (can be able to see on the market days only which holds on every five days), Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, it houses 5 extraordinary Buddha images scarcely recognizable as they have been disfigured by layers of gold which people stick on both for good luck and as an art of piety, Ngaphechaung Monastery – the modest collection of Buddha images in Shan, Tibetan, Bagan and Inwa styles, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and other sights. Stay overnight at hotel in Inle.
Day 5: Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Procession
After breakfast, take a boat to watch the procession ceremony. In this year Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda festival eighteen days procession trip is from 19.09.09 to 06.10.09. Each year in the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival time, out of five Buddha images houses in Pagoda, the four images leave the Pagoda Shrine to make a procession trip lasting for eighteen days. Images are carried on the ‘Karaweik Royal Barge’ with an opening ceremony. The images stop at the villages in the Inlay Lake for one or two days for homage by the people. On each and every stop held grand ceremony and boat racing. The four Buddha images would be in Nyaung Shwe for three nights. During those days, the people from surrounding villages come to pay homage to Buddha images and watch boat racing. Stay overnight at hotel in Nyaung Shwe.
Day 6: Heho - Yangon
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure to Yangon by morning flight. Transfer to the hotel. Visit to Botataung Pagoda, built in AD 997 legend has it that 1,000 officers brought two hairs of Buddha. It is a hollow pagoda with Zigzagging corridor with walls completely covered in mosaic mirror glass. Next proceeds to Nanthida Jetty and watch the traffic on the Yangon River. Here, luxury cruise liners come to berth at this jetty quite often. After lunch visit National Museum, has a rich collection of antiques, cultural objects, arts and handicrafts of indigenous races, royal regalia, musical instruments, decorative arts and art gallery. The significance of the Museum is the Lion Throne (Thiha Thana Palin). After that, shopping at Bogyoke Aung San Market before called Scott’s Market, where one can buy many items in one place. This Market was built in British colonial times and has a colonial shape. Stay overnight at hotel, Yangon.
Day 7: Yangon Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure by morning flight.
